FAQ: Ask Amy image by: kofoto.net
Do we have to have a religious ceremony?
No. I am happy to perform Christian weddings, those of inter-faith couples and even those with no religious affiliation. However, I assume if you want to work with me, you are seeking God’s blessing upon your marriage. You are the creator of your wedding ceremony and we will work together to make your day meaningful and memorable.
Do we have to get married in a church?
Not at all. I am happy to marry you in a park, a country club, a church or other religious space of worship, as permitted. We may be inside or outside – the venue is completely up to you. If you are interested in a church wedding, but have no connection with a church, I can help you with those arrangements as well.
What is the cost?
Please check out the "Bottom Line" page for those details and contact me with any further questions.
Do our premarital sessions with you qualify for the reduced marriage license fee in Minnesota?
Unfortunately, no. The state of Minnesota requires at least 12 hours of premarital education to receive a reduced marriage license fee and that goes beyond the scope of our time together. I can recommend a professional marriage therapist if you so choose in lieu of the Prepare-Enrich inventory with me.
Do you travel?
The Twin Cities take priority, but I am willing to officiate other Minnesota weddings and those in surrounding areas. Additional costs incurred for my travel outside the Twin Cities area require a mileage reimbursement of 57.5 cents per mile (IRS standard) as well as lodging costs if it requires an overnight stay.
Do you wear a robe for the ceremony?
Only if you want me to! Otherwise I dress formally and understated.
